Photoshoot: Languish Love

I am going to break this shoot up into multiple posts because there are literally hundreds of amazing photos and several outfit changes that all have different moods. This is the first shoot that Erica of HoldMyGold and I have styled together and I love the results. She is so Rock 'n' Roll and I am so Glamour Hippie and to see how simply we worked together was incredibly fun and unexpected. We also had the best hair and make-up I have ever had. It was phenomenal, true craftsmanship. And like a perfect storm Kristin Cofer was available to photograph! We have been trying for months and it has been so hard to get our schedules to synch/planets to align. I just LOVE the look of Jess and Brittney together. They are so symbiotic in their movements and colors and poses. So beautiful.

Sonia Rykiel: You da Queen

While sipping a drink at the Mercantile with Dani the other night she asked me what I thought about Creepers.  I haven't thought about Creepers in a reeeeaaaalllly long time.  I never loved them, but she told me about how they are the centerpiece of Sonia Rykiel's fall/winter 09 collection.  Damn!  I love this collection.  Watch her video!!  It is a masterpiece.  It is punk and bohemian, geometric and soft, structured and flowy.  I am just blown away by the use of sequins in the most luscious colors and then there are The Fucking Diamond Encrusted Creepers.  Holy moly.  I just love dichotomy and opposites and things that don't belong together meshed in harmony.  Dying!

Lady Godiva: Take One!

Right now I have this ridiculously long hippie hair and Kristin and I have been trying to schedule a nudie shoot where my hair covers me up Lady Godiva style.  I hate that there is any problem with nudity on the internet because I would post all of them, but the nip slips are a plenty.  We will have to play with them a little first.  Anyhoo, I was stoked that my Luxury Cat Boo-nay-nay was down to pose with me.  In the first one I am wearing this amazing Vintage Elephant necklace that my mother got me in an antique store in Placerville.  I think it is real ivory.  The ears, husks and chunky chain are gold.  I also have on my two Giant Citrine engagement rings and a big gold cuff that Meghan lent me.  Her Aunt was a jewelry designer in the 80's and she made these bejeweled cuffs with enormous hunks of Jade all over them.  In the last one I am wearing one of my biggest scores ever:  A vintage Christian Dior gold chain, tiered tassle belt.  Love it!  The necklace and the belt look sort of ludicrous over clothing and I have been waiting for this shoot to wear them.  Yay!  If anyone ever feels less than a perfect ten, just let Kristin Cofer take your clothes off and pose you.  Seriously.  She is amazing.  I wish I had photos like this of every one of my beautiful friends.  Do it!

Fort Bragg: Magical Weekend

I have over-planned so many weekends and ruined them. This weekend absolutely fell together without any effort and was the least expensive and funnest, free-flowing-est weekend I have ever had. I had the most magical weekend in Fort Bragg. My friends Al & Malinda invited me to go to their wedding and Rafter was supposed to go with me, but got really busy what with the moped races and our rally coming up and he only wanted to go for the day, but I had the entire 3 day Labor day weekend off and really wanted to Camp!! This has been a Camping Summer! and I love it. Siobhan was off too and was able to join me. Pretty drive, nice weather, beautiful wedding. Kristin Cofer was the photographer for the wedding so we got to stay with her in her bed n breakfast. We got to go have breakfast in Mendocino the next morning, but couldn't find a campsite. At the bbq Sunday afternoon to send off the married couple, Al's mom offered to share her campsite with us. Such a RAD lady. She sat around the campfire and told us that although now she is solitary she raised Al while in several covenants of witches. Hence the broom in the ceremony. Siobhan and I ran all around the ocean and it goosed us so we stripped and jumped in. So cold and exhilarating. The next day we found some rad Flea Markets and Yard Sales and of course Bro Trucks. They are rampant in Northern California!
I took a million photos and you can view them here if you wish.

New Love: Corsets & Pleated Slacks

Okay, so the first example is with Harem Pants, these ones are actually from Contempo Casuals circa 1989. Remember Contempo Casuals??? Best store ever. We used to die over that shit, (at sunrise mall).

I just love the look of Bustiers and Corsets with PANTS! Pleated trousers are so cute. I think they look great on everyone. A bustier probably seems pretty hard core, but with a long open silk shirt or vest or cardigan it would be more subtle. Plus it's party gear. Doesn't it just scream dance party?

All these Gems are for sale right now on HOLD MY GOLD
