New Prius!!

Totally got the 2010 Prius!!!  We traded in my beloved truck from High School.  His name was Fredrik.  He's been living on a ranch in Monterey County, but when we realized he would qualify for the Cash For Clunkers program and give me $4,500 mutherfuking dollars off a brand new car, we brought him up and traded him in!  It was really pretty sad to leave Fredrik there at the dealership.  So many fun times were had tearing around in him in the foothills, camping, the beach, all through college in Santa Cruz.  He was such a good little truck.  He still had an Alien Workshop skate sticker on his tailgate. But in the end . . . .

We killed him for our Brand New PRIUS!!  It is the car of my dreams.  I went thrifting today and filled it up!  Love it!  

I also realized that with this purchase Rafter and I have completed our identity as California Hippie Yuppies.  In our collection:  Iphones, Pomeranian, Craftsman Bungalow home, Luxury Cat, Macbook pros, backyard garden, Co-op membership, spca rescue cat, & No on 8 protest signs on the front porch ready to roll.  

Anyhoo, I don't give a shit.  I am stoked.

The only weird thing that has happened so far, is that last night at Lipstick I was showing it off and a friend of mine, a party girl, who I have know for years, although she is still underage, (like half the girls at lipstick), said, without hesitation,  "Awww, did Rafter buy it for you?"

I was so stunned, I just looked at her.  After a moment I asked if she was kidding.  

I have been saving my money for five years waiting for this day and I am so proud of myself.  I bought it with my own money, free and clear.  It was so bizarre and alarming to hear a young woman just ASSUME that my husband bought it for me.  Bummer.
