This weekend – Second Saturday weekend – is the annual Capitol Artists’ Studio Tour, sponsored by the Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento.
My amazing mother, Ruth Coelho, is one of the participating artists. You have got to go check out her studio. I am in constant awe of her talent. She is a painter, sculptor, illustrator, and any other kind of traditional artist you can think of. She is familiar with every single material you might want to work with and she has been making art for her whole life. If you have an appreciation for Classical Realism, you will love her stuff.
On Saturday, the studios are open from noon to 4 pm. Get your map online by downloading it from the Center's website at www.ccasac.org. Sunday – the studio tour continues, from noon to 4 pm.
